Applying to MCC

If you have graduated high school and have a desire to passionately pursue God, you are a candidate for Master’s Commission. Each and every student is provided with intense discipleship and ministry training to live out his or her individual calling. What our world needs is more people who will sell out 100% to God, regardless of what they do for a living. There is no question that Master’s will shape evangelists, pastors, and missionaries, but it is our prayer that we will also shape lawyers, teachers, and business people! Whether you are called to be a street preacher or a street sweeper, Master’s Commission may be just the avenue you need to see God’s purposes for your life fulfilled.

What if I'm not from Canada?

Master’s Commission Canada welcomes and encourages international students. If you are from the U.S., the application process is the same as if for a Canadian student. Upon acceptance into the program, you will receive a form in the mail to sign and send back to us. Because the courses each student takes are recognized by the American Association of Bible Colleges, this signed form will allow you to come across the border for the duration of the school year as a student. If you are from a nation outside of North America, please contact the office for further information and instruction.

What about housing and meals?

While attending MCC, each student will stay with home-openers. These are individual families in the church who are excited about the opportunity to house students in a situation similar to a foreign exchange program. Your home-openers will provide you with a place to stay, as well as meals for the duration of the school year. This is a great chance to build lasting relationships and it greatly reduces your living expenses while you are at Master’s Commission.

When does the program begin and end?

Each year will begin with orientation on the last Sunday of September. Most students will move in on that day, although early move-in is possible. All students are required to be present at orientation and parents and/or family members are encouraged to attend. Graduation marks the end of the school year which will take place on the first Sunday of June.

Will every applicant be accepted?

Because of the nature of the program, not everyone who applies for Master’s Commission will be accepted. Students are selected through an application process designed to allow the leadership to seek God’s will concerning every applicant. Final decisions will be made after reference checks, phone interviews, and prayerful consideration.

What are the requirements for a potential MCC student?

Spiritual & Practical Preparedness

We are looking for students who have a sincere and real hunger for God. First year students are required to sign a covenant with God that states God will have first and foremost priority in every aspect of your life. During the program, no dating is permitted. This is a serious commitment for the duration of the school year that you are willing to give up the right to date to focus solely on your relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our desire that each student's time at MCC is as productive as possible, and that means setting aside all distractions for the purpose of knowing Him better.

Education

All applicants must have received a high school diploma or equivalent before being considered for acceptance into Master's Commission Canada.

Commitment

The discipleship that each student acquires from Master's Commission is directly proportionate to the level of commitment that each is willing to give. This is a commitment for the entire school year. During this time, students are not permitted to seek employment or join another ministry in the church (other than the ministries they are placed in through the Master's Commission program). This will allow complete freedom of the student's time for involvement in every aspect of ministry provided by Master's Commission.

Tuition & Finances

The total tuition cost of the first-year discipleship program of Master's Commission Canada is $4,350 CDN. This covers lodging at host homes, meals, travel expenses (foreign missions trip excluded), retreats, and Master's Workshop curriculum. For candidates who have attended Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly for at least one year, a scholarship of $850 is available for those who qualify. Upon acceptance, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit required. Payment of this deposit secures your place in this year's program and is deducted from the total cost. The remaining balance must be paid by the first day of the school year. If you are unable to pay the full amount by this deadline, please contact the Master's Commission office to discuss a payment plan. It is also recommended that each student have a monthly support of $100 dollars to cover personal needs and expenses and extra spending money for trips. This is not a requirement but is strongly suggested. Upon acceptance into the program, new students will receive information on ways to raise this support through monthly sponsors. It is also advised that each student does not have any outstanding debt, due to the inability to work during the school year.

Health Insurance

Each student must prove that he/she is fully covered by health insurance that will be maintained during the entire term. The church is not liable for any hospitalizations or medical expenses incurred by the student during the school year.

Passport

Each student must have a valid passport by the first day of Master's Commission.
