Master's Commission is a discipleship program that is anything
but ordinary. The calling of every Christian is to be a disciple,
to follow Christ no matter what the cost. Jesus once chose 12 people
to be his full-time disciples. They took up a mandate to forsake
everything and pursue God whole-heartedly. Their lives were changed
by daily walking with the Master, listening to His voice and spending
time close to His heart. The calling of a Master's Commission student
is exactly that, to commit time to God for no other purpose than
to know Him more intimately and to live for Him more completely.
Each person that embarks on this journey commits nine months of
their life to full-time discipleship. BALANCED training: 1/3 Hands-on-training,
1/3 Academic, 1/3 Prayer and the Word.
What is a typical day for a Master's Commission
student?
Committed to providing each student with the best possible atmosphere
for growth, a typical Master's Commission day is designed to shape
and stretch the heart of every student into that of a disciple.
Mornings consist of organized prayer, Bible study, discipleship,
scripture memorization, and time to work on required academic studies.
Over the course of the year, each student will memorize over 300
verses of scripture and complete 8-12 credits of Bible College courses.
Students also have the opportunity to hear and learn from incredible
guest speakers, pastors, and missionaries who will share with them
solid life-training and practical ministry teachings.
Afternoons are devoted to developing a soul-winner's heart by training
students in hands-on ministry experience. (drama, tools, worship,
media, public speaking, etc
) We minister as a team at over
100 services a year thus many afternoons are also devoted to service
and sermon preparation. Full-time ministry is not a job that starts
when a pay check does; it is the very heart of being a disciple.
Each person will learn what ministry means first hand by spending
time in a variety of opportunities to reach out to people of all
ages. Whether you are ministering to a fatherless six year old at
a street outreach, preaching in front of 2000 people at a conference
or holding the hand of a 96 year old woman who is alone in a nursing
home, your view of ministry will never be the same!
What do I do after a year of Master's Commission?
After graduating the first-year discipleship program of Masters
Commission Canada, the options are endless! We highly recommend
that students return to complete a second year of leadership training.
This time gives the second-year student the ability to further live
out the discipline he or she has already acquired, and build leadership
skills that will benefit any disciple regardless of where God leads.
Some students may choose to continue their education at a secular
University, or transfer acquired credits to a formal Bible College.
No matter what you choose, we believe that you will be equipped
to live out the call God has on your life.
